Take a look at this manicure. What do you think it is? Stamping or vinyls?
The amazing thing about nail art today is that there are so many techniques, and so many ways in which to achieve a certain look. Just like cheating at watermarble. 😉 This look has been stamped.
Here’s a confession – I’m horrible at using vinyls. For some reason, the one thing that is supposed to make it easier to create fun designs, makes me cry. Especially when it comes to using stencil vinyls. Simple patterns I can manage. Straight lines, chevrons, spirals even. But stencils? Nope. Nope. Nope.
I’ve tried everything! Quick-dry top coat, waiting for hours for the base polish to completely dry, using new polishes and not gloopy older ones, using good quality vinyls – everything! And nothing I do gives me the clean, crisp lines that everyone seems to get out of their vinyls.
The weirder thing is that once upon a time, I could manage it. Now, it seems, something is amiss. I’ve found one more tip that I need to try – sponging on the polish instead of applying it on my nail directly. Maybe that will help. Let’s see.
How do you fare with vinyls? Do you have any tips on how I can get my stencil vinyls to work? Please help if you do! I’d be so grateful!
